My Name Is Dawnielle Derrick and I am from a quiet little town called Mount Morris. Painting is very relaxing for me. I have had a love for art all my life. I express a lot of my work on myself. Having many tattoos makes me a walking canvas. To have people come up to me and ask me about the tattoos makes it all worth while. I have a lot more confidence in myself to be able to share my heart and soul with the world. A lot of my art comes from the inner soul. Depending on the mood, I can paint all of my emotions on the canvas. It is exciting for me to watch the paintings come to life. A lot of the work I do comes from some of my past memories of my grandmother. I can remember her holding her teddy bear when she was near the end. She always loved stuffed animals around her. She taught me so much about myself. I was always told to do what you want in life and be who you want to be! Never judge anyone for being different. I was blessed to be able to share some of my work with her before she left this earth. She always told me I should do something with my art but I never did, until now. I am able to share my art with the world. The teddy bear has special meaning along with the cemetery paintings. You couldn’t ask for more of a peaceful place. I can respect the difference between life and death, but that doesn’t mean I understand! I can put my heart and soul onto the canvas along with the memories. My art speaks for itself!

We, Matt and Mary, met Dawnielle at a local craft show. Her fantastic art work in her tattoos got our attention. We invited her to do some drawings for us that we could then turn them into metal pictures. She does the beautiful drawings and we do the necessary adjustments to make them look just right in metal. We take the time to keep them very close to the original and she Okays the finished picture before you see it! The steel rendering is available in small, 16-20 inches, medium 24-28 inches and large 32-36 inches. Because of the unique shape and amount of fine detail of the pictures sizes do vary.
